Per NICS Final Rule, 28 CFR, Part 25.9 (b) (1), (2) and (3), the NICS must destroy all identifying information on allowed trans- actions. For this reason, a Voluntary Appeal File is required to be established in order for the NICS, to maintain information about the applicant to prevent future erroneous denies or extended delays.
