provisions of section 14(a) of the Fair Labor Standards Act must
submit an application to the Department of Labor for authorization.
Applications and records are reviewed by the Department of Labor to
determine whether statutory and regulatory requirements have been
met.

decreased the annual burden estimate by 229 responses and 115
hours, because the number of applications actually received in
recent years has decreased.
