EPA has developed this renewal ICR to
ensure that the voluntary program "Climate Leaders Partnership"
maintains the capability to obtain credible greenhouse gas
emissions inventory data from companies that choose to participate
in the Partnership. This data will go through a rigorous review and
allow the Partnership to accurately track each partner's progress
towards meeting their greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal.
Mostly larger corporations will join the Climate Leaders
Partnership, and therefore the impact of this program on small
businesses is limited.
Increase in overall costs is
due to the continued growth in the number of companies
participating in the Partnership. EPA has collaborated with
Partners to develop these revised reporting requirements which are
better suited for establishing and tracking progress of corporate
GHG reduction goals. This change is a result of a more interactive
program approach between EPA and Climate Leaders Partners and a
larger number of Partners in the program since the currently
approved ICR.
