CMS currently awards competitive grants to States and other eligible entities for the purpose of designing and implementing effective enduring improvements in community-based long-term services and support systems. CMS requires the information obtain through web-based grantee reporting for two reasons: (1) in order to effectively monitor the grants, and; (2) to report to Congress and other interested stakeholders the progress and obstacles experienced by grantees.
