There will be a new requirement, per
Final Rule 0648-AW70, for a vessel owner/captain to call NMFS to
confirm connectivity of the unit with the OLE system upon
installation of a new or replacement VMS unit, as well as
completing the VMS certification form currently required. The final
rule is expected to publish no later than mid-March, 2009.
