This request is for the new
requirement added through rulemaking to 30 CFR 251. The requirement
allows permittees to apply for an extension to the proprietary term
of certain reprocessed geophysical information submitted to MMS
under a permit.
The increase of 3 burden hours
is due to rulemaking. The 30 CFR part 251.14(b)allows for
permittees to extend the 25-year proprietary term for geophysical
information reprocessed 20 or more years after MMS issued the
germane permit. The extension request must be submitted within 90
days after completion of the reprocessing.
