EPA is amending the New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for Petroleum Refineries by proposing a new subpart for affected sources constructed, reconstructed, or modified after May 14, 2007 (40 CFR part 60, subpart Ja). Sources potentially subject to this standard are petroleum refineries. Subject sources have emission requirements for particulate matter, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide. Consequently, these sources are subject to monitoring, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements so that EPA may target inspections and determine compliance.
