These collections of information will allow EDA to determine whether to: (i) permit an incidental use property acquired or improved with EDA investment assistance; or (ii) release its interest in real or tangible personal property.
Incidental use requests and requests to release EDAÂs property interest have increased since 2006 in response to rapid economic shifts as well as changes in the health of the real estate market and municipal finances (45 to 105). EDA has determined that the previous estimate of 4 hours (now 2 hours and 45 minutes) to prepare a request was excessive, given that most requests are a single page letter.
The ROCIS system is showing $0 cost burden for the previous submission due to rounding off when migrating the collection to ROCIS. The system allows the actual cost increase of $66 to be recorded.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of these provisions, identify the item by leaving the box unchecked and explain the reason in the Supporting Statement.
