NARRATIVE OF CHANGES
(Form I-515A)
OMB No. 1653-0037
There has been a decrease in the Burden previously reported for this collection of information of 300 respondents and 50 burden hours. USICE Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has been aggressive in addressing the root causes for the issuance of I-515’s by directing specific informational and educational materials to students and Exchange Visitors encouraging them to hand carry travel documents. SEVP issued a Fact Sheet this June encouraging schools to include such information, as well as instructions in how to complete an I-94, in their registration materials. SEVP believes that such efforts are the key in the mitigation of burden hours as opposed to changing the method of collecting the information, or changing the instrument used to collect the information.

The collection instrument itself has been enhanced since it was last presented to OMB for approval by the addition of a Privacy Act Statement. USICE SEVP also has relocated its offices since the last application presented to OMB and as such, the address given on the instrument to respondents to return the instrument along with the other required documentation has been changed. The address to send inquiries and suggestions regarding the burden imposed noted in the Burden Statement has also been updated with the relocation of USICE headquarters.
