Terms of Clearance: Prior to the commencement of the Survey of Plant Capacity Utilization forms distribution, the Census Bureau shall provide on its Internet site prominent links to a set of finalized survey forms, including instructions and cover letters, comparable to those provided for the 2007 Economic Census report forms. The final forms, instructions, and letters shall reflect any changes in the survey year, OMB number expiration date, or Census leadership from those submitted for review.

Abstract: This survey collects data on plant capacity from a sample of manufacturing and publishing establishments in the United States. The data are used by the Federal Reserve Board and the Defense Logistics Agency. Data are used to measure inflationary pressure, change in capital and capacity growth. Data are also used to assess the ability to meet demands under national emergency situations.
