Short Statement: This is an extension of a currently approved collection. There has been an increase in the number of requests to prepay a loan and terminate the multifamily mortgage insurance. This is due to a decrease in interest rates in the previous few years whereby owners have taken advantage of and either prepaid or refinanced their existing FHA-insured loans. Therefore, adjustments were necessary as the number of respondents increased from 500 to 600 since the last submission.
