Terms of Clearance: EDA is approved an emergency clearance which is valid for 180 days. If EDA decides to continue use of the form past the approved emergency clearance time period, they must resubmit to OMB under the normal PRA clearance process for a three year approval.

Abstract: The information collections assigned to this OMB Control No. are necessary for EDA to effectively administer the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms program as authorized under chapters 3 and 5 of title II of the Trade Act of 1974.

Emergency Justfication: EDA requires emergency approval of the revision of its existing information collection forms to publish the regulatory changes promulgated in accordance with the TGAAA. Under these new regulations, EDA revised the definition of an applicant under the TAAF Program to include service sector firms and created the new CTAA Program (administered under OMB Control No. 0610-0094).

Short Statement: To accommodate the changes to the TGAAA (revised the definition of an applicant under the TAAF Program to include service sector firms and creation of the new CTAA Program), the respondents, responses, and burden hours are increased. Petitions – espondents/responses from 173 to 673; burden hours from 1,384 to 5,519. Proposals – respondents/responses from 193 to 493; burden hours from 23,160 to 59,160.
