The Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control conducts research to improve injury care and monitors and communicates injury information. One area they focus on is educating the public about the prevention and recognition of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Based on findings from literature reviews and phone interviews, CDC has identified a lack of awareness of TBI among school professionals. As a result, CDC plans to conduct formative research with school nurses, counselors, psychologists, and administrators. This formative research includes up to 45, 60-minute interviews that will gather information about school professionals' opinions about TBI materials. In addition to gathering this information, CDC plans to ask respondents where and how they get health information, and whether they would disseminate this information.
