Attached is the Information Collection Request (ICR), Analysis of Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted, for revision of a currently approved collection and submission to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The requirements of this collection are proscribed by Title 28, Section 534, U.S. Code. This form is the means by which Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program participating law enforcement agencies report circumstances regarding law enforcement officers killed and/or assaulted and injured with a firearm or a knife or other cutting instrument on hard copy. Following auditing and processing, the data are published annually in the publication Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted and maintained within the FBI UCR Program database.
