Owners and builders of commercial vessels.

What is this collection about?

This collection of information requires an owner or builder of a commercial vessel to submit to the Coast Guard (CG) for review and approval, plans pertaining to marine engineering systems to ensure that the vessel will meet regulatory standards.

Title 46 CFR Subchapter F, is available at—http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov, select TITLE 46 – SHIPPING, and follow to Subchapter F.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?

Information must be submitted to the CG prior to construction or modification of vessel.

How is the information submitted?

The information must be submitted in accordance with the regulations. Information may be submitted to the CG Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI) at the local Sector Office, or the CG Marine Safety Center (MSC). What happens after providing all required documentation/ information?

Once all required information per Title 46 CFR Subchapter F has been provided and the CG approves it, you will be notified in writing.
