1 The OMB approval for clearance through 10/31/2009 contained these estimates.

2 The estimate for cost to the federal government in the supporting statement from 2006 includes only the cost of information clearance ($6,289.00), although the ROCIS system indicates $0. As stated in the supporting statement from 2006, the “Analysis of Data (FERC hydropower licensing[)] program is reimbursed by licensees pursuant to Section 10(e) of the Federal Power Act”.

The estimate for cost to the federal government in this request, submitted in 2009, includes average annual estimates for:

processing time, that continues to be reimbursed by licensees, and

  • information clearance ($1,480).

3 Per sections 4.41 (e) (9), 4.51 (e) (7) and 4.61 (c) (3), applicants are now required to submit their total cost of collection; these figures were used in determining the average burden hours. The information presented here is based on actual FYs 2007 and 2008 filings. Fourteen filers of FERC-505 provided cost data; their total annual cost for the collection was $3,123,000 (giving an average of $223,071 per response).
