The information collected will be used by FRA to ensure that railroads/track owners adopt and implement bridge management programs as required by the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008 and this regulation in order to properly inspect, maintain, modify, and repair all bridges that carry trains over them for which they are responsible.
