The purpose of this information
collection is to gather socioeconomic monitoring information in the
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. In 1997 and 2001
regulations created a series of "no take zones" in the sanctuary.
NOAA will continue to evaluate the socioeconomic impacts of these
zones. The results will be used to help guide revisions to the
management plan for the sanctuary.
In order to cover the entire
Florida Keys for monitoring, our most recent study identified that
there are 69 Dive Shops and we will continue with the 40 commercial
fishing panel members. This is an increase of 2 respondents from
the Dive Shop population. Total burden hours increases from 790 to
810 hours.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
