Form 5500 is an annual information return filed by employee benefit plans. Changes have been made to the various forms and schedules under this approval number. Schedule E and Schedule SSA have been removed from this collection through redesigns to the ther forms. Information previously collected on Schedule E is now being collected on Schedule MB. This will eliminate the duplicate filing of some information on two separate forms. Information previously collected on Schedule SSA will now be solicited on a new form individually managed by IRS only. Based on these changes the total burden has decreased by 270,000 hours.
