OMB Package CS-10-212C
Extended Service Hours Taxpayer Survey Study
Justification for Proposed Changes to Submitted OMB Package
The Extension of TAC Service Hours Survey (CS-10-212) was submitted for approval on January 15, 2009, with a target date of February 24, 2010. After submission, Field Assistance decided to include an additional site with expanded hours to the study.
Therefore, the burden and cost estimates for this data collection have increased slightly. In addition, due to unexpected delays to OMB approval, the first week of data collection has been postponed by a week (the initial start date for data collection was during the week of February 22). The proposed changes to the OMB package are highlighted in the resubmitted document, and are listed below for your convenience.
The Salt Lake City, Utah site was added to the project (bringing the total to 16 sites, and increasing from eight sites with extended hours during the week to nine sites).
With the addition of Salt Lake City, burden hours increased by 21.84 hours (105 surveys X 3 minutes /60 minutes + 1,992 surveys X .5 minute/60 minutes), bringing the total to 605.12 burden hours (Original hours: 582.78 + Salt Lake City burden hours: 21.84 = 604.62).
Additional mailing costs for Salt Lake City are estimated to be $200, bringing the total to $1200.
