Abstract: The Domestic Chemical Diversion Control Act requires that manufacturers, distributors, importers, and exporters of List I chemicals which may be diverted in the United States for the production of illicit drugs must register with DEA. Registration provides a system to aid in the tracking of the distribution of List I chemicals.

Short Statement: DEA estimates that approximately 200 firms may have to obtain a new DEA registration, 150 manufacturers and 50 importers. DEA assumes that these firms complete the registration application electronically, with each application taking 15 minutes to complete. The receipt of these additional applications increases the hour burden by 50 hours annually.
