Note to Reviewer of 1210-0123

Please note that this revision to the ICR under OMB Control Number 1210-0123 is being made to reflect changes to the COBRA notification requirements that were made by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“AARA”) as amended by the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010, which was signed by President Obama on December 19, 2009 (Pub. L. 111-118). The ARRA COBRA provisions were revised to extend the premium assistance eligibility date from December 31, 2009 to February 28, 2010, and the premium reduction period was extended from nine months to 15 months. The Department intends to remove the ARRA-mandated notification requirements from the ICR when the Department makes its submission to OMB to extend the ICR before its November 30, 2012, expiration date.
