The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages the leasing and development of geothermal resources. The BLM uses this information to approve lease activities for geothermal resource and unit agreements, process nominations for geothermal lease sales, and monitor compliance with granted approvals.
 The 2007 renewal request mistakenly did not mention Form 3203-1, Nomination of Land for Competitive Leasing, although the information collection requirements in the pertinent regulations (i.e., 43 CFR 3203.5(a)(1)(i), 3203.10, 3203.11(a), and 3203.12) were discussed and analyzed. We are including Form 3203-1 in this renewal request.
 The 2007 renewal request mistakenly included an analysis of the hour and wage burdens of 43 CFR subpart 3211 (Filing and Processing Fees, Rent, Direct Use Fees, and Royalties). The information collection burdens of the regulations in that subpart consist solely of processing and filing fees, and those burdens are fully analyzed under Item No. 13 of this supporting statement. Consequently, these burdens are omitted from Item Nos. 12 and 14 of this supporting statement.
 The 2007 renewal request mistakenly included an analysis of information collection at 43 CFR subparts 3214 and 3215 (respectively, Personal and Surety Bonds and Bond Release, Termination, and Collection). The regulations in those subparts entail no information collection burden other than that necessary to identify the respondent, the respondentÂs address, the date and the nature of the instrument. Therefore, under 5 CFR 1320.3(h), we have not included those regulations in this renewal request.
 The 2007 renewal request included an analysis of the information collection burdens at 43 CFR subpart 3216 (Transfers). As provided by 43 CFR 3216.14, respondents must use Form 3000-3 to request to transfer record title, and they must use Form 3000-3a to request to transfer operating rights. These forms are approved under OMB control number 1004-0034. The dual use of these forms for geothermal resources, as well as oil and gas resources, was discussed, and the burdens for both purposes included, in the information collection request for that OMB control number. For this reason, the information collection requirements at 43 CFR subpart 3216 are omitted from this supporting statement.
 The 2007 renewal request mistakenly did not include the collection of information involved in the relinquishment, assignment, or transfer of a site license under 43 CFR subpart 3273. This collection of information is included in this renewal request.
 The 2007 renewal request mistakenly did not mention Form 3260-5, Monthly Report of Geothermal Operations, although the information collection requirements in the pertinent regulations (i.e., 43 CFR subpart 3276) were discussed and analyzed. We are including Form 3260-5 in this renewal request.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).

(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of these provisions, identify the item by leaving the box unchecked and explain the reason in the Supporting Statement.
