The Basel Committee is conducting a quantitative impact study (QIS) to assess the impact of the proposed revisions that were published by the Basel Committee on December 17, 2009. As part of this effort, the OCC, in coordination with the other Federal banking agencies, is proposing to collect data from national banks concerning: revisions to the market risk framework; the development of guidelines for computing capital for incremental risk in the trading book; revised risk weights for re-securitizations held in the banking book; changes to the definition of capital; the introduction of a leverage ratio; the treatment of counterparty credit risk; liquidity enhancements; operational risk; and countercyclical tools.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
