Section 104(b) of the Consumer Product
Saety Improvement Act directs the Commission to issue safety
standards for durable infant or toddler products. The Safety
Standard for Bassinets and Cradles incorporates the ASTM voluntary
standard with certain additions and modifications. There are
requirements for marking, labeling, and instructional literature
that are information collection requirements under the
PRA.
Section 104 of the Consumer
Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 requires CPSC to promulgate
consumer product safety standards for durable infant or toddler
products. Bassinets and cradles are specifically included ad
durable infant or toddler products by section 104(f)(2) of the
CPSIA. CPSC is proposing a safety standard for bassinets and
cracdles that contains requirements for marking, labeling and
instructional literature that are information requirements under
PRA.
