EDA is making some minor changes to the annual ÂExcellence in Economic Development Award program. We are changing the name to the Â2010 Innovation in Economic Development Awards and we are combining the seven previously-used categories to four more general categories that are more in line with EDAÂs current priorities:
2010 Award Categories:
Innovation in Regional Innovation Clusters (RICs)
Innovation in Commercialization
Innovation in Global Export Promotion
Innovation in Green Technology
Our intension is to also make the entry form accessible online. If possible, weÂd like to use the currently approved form OMB No. 0610-0101, while just modifying the award name and categories. We will reference the OMB form # on the EDA website, where the application will be posted.
We anticipate that we will receive the same amount of entries as in past years, and the amount of time to complete the application will remain the same, since the submission requirements will be the same as last yearÂjust submitted electronically, rather than by mail.
EDA wants to announce the award program/call for applications on June 14, 2010. The deadline for submissions will be August 27, 2010.
