The reasons for the estimated burden changes, which reflects an overall burden reduction for 10 CFR Part 50 from 5,218,590 hours to 4,367,160 hours is due primarily to the number of new reactor applications expected from industry during the clearance period. During the previous term (2007-2010), the NRC anticipated receiving 19 combined license applications. 18 of the 19 anticipated applications have been received and docketed and aare being reviewed by the NRC staff. However, for this clearance period (2010-2013), the NRC anticipates receiving 3 combined license applications, or an average of one annually. The number of license applications the NRC anticipates receiving is based on dicussions with prospective applicants. Additionaly, the changes are covered in the section specific statements (Enclosures 2a and 2b, Section 1 through 35).
