There is a program change increase of 956,032 burden hours and an administrative transfer of 21,000 hours from 668.16(e)(OMB# 1845-0022) to 668.34, thereby streamlining both new and most existing satisfactory academic progress (SAP) elements into one ICR. The proposed regulations identify policies and procedures to ensure that students are making satisfactory academic progress in their program at a pace and a level to receive or continue to receive Title IV, HEA program funds. The proposed regulations require that if a lapse in progress occurs, the policy must identify how a student will be notified and what steps are available to a student, not making SAP, to continue studies and under what conditions the student may continue to receive Title IV, HEA program funds.
