Name of Law: National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965
The Arts Endowment is committed to supporting the arts in communities throughout the country and engages in outreach activities to connect with, and make its funding known to, underserved areas. Posting of our guidelines on the agency's Web site and on Grants.gov has increased awareness of and access to our funding opportunities for organizations and individuals throughout the country. The current state of the economy and the greater visibility focused on the NEA because of its participation in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act have also contributed to an increase in applications. The NEA also anticipates making more grant awards than at the time of its last PRA submission, which will contribute to additional reports. The increases in annual responses and hour burden above reflect this projected increase in the number of both applications and grants we anticipate annually during the next three years.
