Abstract: The NSDUH (formerly the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse) is a survey of the civilian, noninstitutionalized population of the United States, age 12 and over. The data are used to estimate the prevalence of cigarette, alcohol and illicit drug use, and abuse of licit drugs. Results are used by SAMHSA, ONDCP, and other Federal agencies and other researchers and organizations to establish policy, direct program activities, and better allocate resources.

Short Statement: The original approval the 2010 NSDUH including the 500 interviews for the MHSS (for which OMB approval has been received) is below. The Program is requesting the revised 2011 NSDUH burden includes the additional 1,000 SCID interviews, for a total of 1,500 MHSS interviews.
