The primary objective of the FMPP is
to help eligible entities to improve and expand domestic farmers
markets, roadside stands, community-supported agriculture programs,
and other direct producer-to-consumer opportunities.

Due to the increase in funds
under the 2008 Farm Bill, the number of respondents applying for
FMPP grant fund is expected to increase from 400 to 1500, based on
10-fold increase in funding provided under the Farm Bill.
