This Report collects information on businesses to obtain proper industry classification for use in economic surveys conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. This information is used to update the sampling frame for current business surveys and reduce respondent burden for the five-year Economic Census. In fiscal years 2012 and 2013, the Census Bureau will contact 75,000 establishments that have been assigned a partial manufacturing, mining, or construction NAICS code from administrative records as well as wholesale establishments currently classified in select industries to determine correct classification.
