SSS abstractors will abstract eight acute coronary syndrome records in each of 32 hospitals. A different SSS abstractor will reabstract the eight records. We expect that hospital staff will take an average of 15 minutes to pull and then refile the eight medical records (Attachment J). This equals 8 annualized hours over three years.

The questions for the acute coronary syndrome abstraction module include:

• Date and time of first hospital contact

• Troponin levels

• Ischemic pain upon admission

• Elective (planned) cardiac procedure admission
