This information collection allows
Indian Affairs to solicit proposals from federally-recognized
Indian tribes seeking funding to retain universities and colleges,
private consulting firms, non-academic/non-profit entities, or
others to perform feasibility studies of economic development
opportunities or long-term, strategic, reservation-wide economic
plans. These feasibility studies will empower American Indian
tribes and tribal businesses to make informed decisions regarding
their economic futures.
The need for this information
collection results from a program change establishing the NABDI to
provide technical assistance to Indian tribes. To ensure that all
federally recognized tribes are provided with the opportunity to
apply for the funding, it is necessary to issue a general
solicitation. To ensure that program participants use funds only
for allowable purposes, it is necessary to collect a final
report.
