Abstract: Under this new final rule, if operators are covered by a premium war risk insurance policy issued by the FAA, they will be required to issue an endorsement to their premium war risk insurance policy that specifically excludes coverage for any operations below FL 160 in the territory and airspace of Afghanistan. Each operator wanting to provide flights to, from, or within Afghanistan will complete and submit the required information including liability waiver and indemnification agreement. Operators will also submit SRAP's to departments or contracting agencies. Contracting agencies or departments will review, approve and ensure that SRAP's submitted by operators will adequately mitigate risk.
