Dear [Salutation] [LastName]:

The Technology Transfer Center (TTC) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) fosters the development of new biomedical technologies through research collaborations. The TTC provides services to NCI, as well as to nine other Institutes and Centers of the National Institutes of Health.

We are conducting a brief web-based survey to help us better respond to the needs of our external customers. The goal of the survey is to gather information about industry trends in building collaborations, preferred communications channels, and satisfaction with TTC’s services. The survey population includes industry personnel who have utilized TTC’s services, as well as some who have not. A Federal Project Officer, assisted by an Advisory Committee, will oversee the governance of the survey, which will be regulated and approved by the Office of Management and Budget.

Purpose of this Letter

I am writing to invite you to participate in the survey. Your participation should take no more than 15-20 minutes, is voluntary, and will involve completing the web-based questionnaire by a specific date. Survey data from all respondents will be aggregated and presented in summary form. Individual responses will be kept secure, as permitted by law.

Within the week, you will receive an e-mail invitation from The Madrillon Group Inc., our contractor on the survey, with a link to the web-based survey. Please feel free to contact the Federal Project Officer, Dr. John Hewes, at 301-496-0477 or [email protected], if you have questions regarding the survey or any study-related issues.

This effort is very important to the NIH technology transfer community, and I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Karen Maurey
