The National Endowment for the Arts is committed to improving its service delivery. The increase in burden is anticipated because of several new information collections proposed during the next three-year period. First, a grantee applicant satisfaction survey will collect information from grant applicants in order to improve the Agency's grant application guidance; the data will also be used to report on a performance measure related to the Agency's FY12-16 Strategic Plan. The NEA also anticipates increasing feedback from individuals who participate in its programs and initiatives through the use of evaluation questionnaires. The information collected from our customers and stakeholders will help ensure that users have an effective, efficient, and satisfying experience with the Agency's programs. This generic clearance will also be used for two pilots of survey instruments intended to improve the Agency's understanding of American audiences for the arts. The grantee audience survey (the pilot for which will be supported by this generic clearance) will collect data for one of the Agency's performance measures for its Strategic Plan.
