The U.S. Department of Education (ED) Policy and Program Studies Service (PPSS) is conducting an analysis of bullying laws and policies. The field data collection portion of the study will involve case studies conducted in 24 school sites nationwide to document state and local implementation of anti-bullying laws and policies. The study will examine how policies are influenced by state legislative requirements, including ways that state and district policies facilitate or create challenges for effective implementation. The study will aim to identify promising strategies that school districts are implementing to combat bullying in schools. This information will be used by ED to better support bullying prevention activities.
