Abstract: The purpose of this standard and its information collection requirements is to provide protection for workers from the adverse effects associated with occupational exposure to vinyl chloride. Employers must monitor worker exposure, reduce worker exposure to with permissible exposure limits, and provide medical examinations and other information to vinyl chloride.

Short Statement: OSHA removed the requirement that employers who cease to do business or those with records with expired retention periods, transfer these records to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (specified in paragraph 29 CFR 1910.1017(m)(3), under the Standards Improvement Project-Phase III rule. As a result of this rulemaking, the Agency requests a program change reduction of 1 hour.
