EDFacts centralizes performance data
supplied by K-12 state education agencies (SEAs) with other data
assets, such as financial grant information, within the Department
to enable better analysis and use in policy development, planning
and management. EDFacts relies on the Education Data Exchange
Network (EDEN), a centralized portal through which states submit
their educational data to the U.S. Department of
Education.
The net burden change reflects
the collection of the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) from all
school districts in 2011-2012. As stated in the approved ICR, ED
has submitted this change to increase the respondents from 7,500 to
15,000 school districts. The 59 state agencies providing data to
EDFacts remain the same. As a result of the CRDC respondent
increase, the burden hours have increased. However, there is no
change in the data elements.
