The purpose of this collection is to
verify that commercial shipments of fresh eggplant from Israel into
the US provide protection against the introduction of quarantine
pests.
There is an adjustment decrease
of 81 burden hours from the previous 85 hours for a new burden of 4
hours. This burden decrease also decreased responses by 18,057. At
this time, Israel does not plan to register any eggplant growers
for export to the US due to the downward turn in the economy. APHIS
does not know what the future holds for Israel exporting eggplant
to the US but does not wish to retire this information collection
in case there are changes in the eggplant program.
