Attachment E: Email Notification for DIS IPS Assessment

ADD DATE HERE

Dear Colleague,

In the Director’s Update, dated January 28, 2013, Dr. Bolan discussed several activities related to Internet Partner Services (IPS) currently underway here in the Division of STD Prevention at the CDC. One of the major activities is an online assessment of current IPS activities in order to better understand the level and depth of IPS activities nationally and to assess the need for a technical assistance network to improve the IPS processes and outcomes. The objectives are to: determine the current use of IPS activities nationwide and create and implement a framework that facilitates peer to peer technical assistance to improve IPS processes and outcomes.

You have been identified as someone who conducts partner services. Below is a link to the online assessment. Even if you or your program does not currently conduct IPS activities, please take the assessment. The information you provide will be valuable in helping us determine current needs.

The assessment should take no more than 25 minutes to complete and your participation is completely voluntary. All information obtained from your responses will be kept secure and you may opt to complete the assessment anonymously. Please complete the assessment by INSERT DATE.

For the purposes of this assessment, we have defined IPS as the use of the internet and other technologies (e.g. texting) to conduct partner services, including partner notification (PN), and/or for record searches and gathering personally identifiable information for STD/HIV prevention and control purposes.

IPS activities do not include outreach or outreach activities such as recruitment to testing and screening events, promotion of health resources, etc.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thank you in advance for you and your cooperation and participation.

Sincerely,

Frank Strona
