Terms of Clearance: MARAD shall collaborate with Ex-Im Bank when this collection in Form MA-518 is re-submitted to address broader data issues to aid the Ex-Im Bank pilot program. As shown by the changes made to this collection, MARAD shall continue to emphasize the voluntary nature of 46 USC 55304, clarify it has no annual reporting requirement, and minimize inconsistencies with the bills of lading.

Abstract: This report is necessary for the Maritime Administration to fulfill its responsibilities under Public Resolution 17, 73rd Congress, and 46 USC 55304 for the control and surveillance of ocean shipments moving under Cargo Preference Laws, and to ensure compliance and equitable distribution of shipments between U.S.-flag and foreign ships.
