Introduction by Interviewer: The purpose of this interview is to gain information to assess the use and value of the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS®) in the clinical research and care communities. This interview will take approximately xx minutes to complete. We will first ask questions about your awareness of the PROMIS® measures and use of other Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) measures. If you have experience with the PROMIS® measures, Assessment Center, or the PROMIS® Web site, we will ask you to answer some additional questions about using them.

Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 40 minutes, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including suggestions for reducing this burden, to: NIH, Project Clearance Branch, 6705 Rockledge Drive, MSC 7974, Bethesda, MD 20892-7974, ATTN: OMB Control number: 0925-0648, Expiration date: 01/2015. 1. To be asked of those respondents who are not at all familiar with NIH PROMIS® measures. The NIH developed PROMIS® a system to provide precise measures of patient–reported health status for physical, mental, and social well–being in an efficient manner. PROMIS® tools measure what patients are able to do and how they feel by asking questions. The PROMIS® Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) provides an immediate personal health status report on up to nine different areas (or domains) of health. The CAT works by choosing the questions in each area that are best for you based on your answers to earlier questions. PROMIS® measures can be used as primary or secondary endpoints in clinical studies of the effectiveness of treatment. Hearing about PROMIS®, how likely are you to look for more information about this tool?

Thank you so much for your time today. Your answers were very helpful. Do you have any comments or questions? We are trying to get as much information from individuals who use patient-reported outcome measures as possible. We would like to know if there is anyone you know that has experience using these measures we may speak with? If so, would you be willing to provide their contact information?

Early Close A

Thank you so much for your time. Unfortunately, we are looking for clinical investigators, academic investigators, public health, and private industry researchers who have experience using patient-reported outcome measures. However, we would like to know if there is anyone you know that has experience using these measures we may speak with? If so, would you be willing to provide their contact information?

Early Close B

Thank you so much for your time today. Your answers were very helpful in gaining a better understanding of researchers’ awareness regarding PROMIS® measures. The remaining items are geared toward researchers who have experience using the PROMIS® measures. However, we would like to know if there is anyone you know that has experience using these measures we may speak with? If so, would you be willing to provide their contact information?
