Steve,
We are short on staff in the analysis branch right now but hope to hire a couple of analysts soon. When that happens, we would appreciate some involvement in this research-it sounds very fruitful. The 2010 NHIS microdata file was released on our website in June 2011. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nhis/nhis_2010_data_release.htm
Regards,
Marcie

Hi,
We can consider potential collaborations in the future.
I just want to be sure you're in the loop on this.
Best,
S

Jane and Marcie,
I hope all is well. Thanks again for your staff providing us with briefings on the early release insurance estimates from NHIS.
We are making progress with our oversample of cancer survivors in MEPS based on an oversample from the 2010 NHIS with your Cancer supplement. Much like the collaboration with NCI on your supplement and your involvement with CDC staff in the Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research (OBSSR), we are also coordinating in a similar manner. Anne Stratton and her staff were also very helpful in providing the NHIS measures necessary to facilitate our MEPS oversample.
In the past, we've done collaborative work on the NHIS-MEPS longitudinal analyses on health insurance coverage trends. Is there continued interest on your part in similar collaboration on NHIS-MEPS longitudinal analyses of these cancer survivors from 2010-2012? A copy of the MEPS cancer questionnaire is attached. Also, when will your 2010 cancer supplement results be available?
Best,
Steve
