Participants in the marine fishing
industry, including vessel owners, vessel operators, and fish
dealers, who wish to participate in regulated Northeast Regional
fisheries must apply for, and obtain, permits. Persons obtaining
permits may also be subject to notification, tagging, and other
requirements. Per Final Rule 0648-BB34, information will be
collected in order to apply for Days at Sea (DAS) credit for a
cancelled trip. This will involve notification from a vessel
monitoring system (VMS) and submission of a DAS credit
form.
