Abstract: Students can be certified for free or reduced-price (FRP) meals through annual household applications or by being matched to lists from other programs (direct certification). Recognizing the burden of household applications, the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA) of 2010 made the Community Eligibility Option (CE Option) available to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and schools in high poverty areas such that families are no longer required to submit applications for FRP meals

The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
