Request for Approval under the “Generic Clearance for the Collection of Routine Customer Feedback” (OMB Control Number: 1910-5160)

T ITLE OF INFORMATION COLLECTION:

Feedback block for DOE’s Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) website

PURPOSE:

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s (EERE) FEMP requests OMB approval for the use of a voluntary, one-question feedback widget/block.

The feedback block will enable us to gauge if user needs are being met by the Web content and tools, gauge the impact and usefulness of the information and tools. If the majority of the answers to this widget are “no” for a certain page, we will review the page content and conduct audience interviews to ascertain the issues with the page and update it based on the interview findings.

The feedback block will be placed strategically on end-point pages on the FEMP website on an average of 10 to 20 pages.

Collection of responses: The question will be administered using a feedback block that asks “Did you find what you are looking for?” Participation is completely voluntary. Data collected will be for internal use only and will not be publically shared.

Burden to public: The question would take each respondent no more than 15 seconds to answer. We would use the feedback block until we reach 4,000 total responses.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONDENTS:

The survey respondents will consist of users of the FEMP website.
