The Third Report and Order (R&O)
which adopted rules applicable to wireless carriers to permit the
use of handset-based solutions, or hybrid solutions that require
changes both to handsets and wireless networks in providing caller
location information as part of Enhanced 911 services. The
Commission is seeking renewal of this ICR. The Commission has
reduced the total annual burden by 2,602 hours.

The decrease in the total
burden hours (2,602 hours) is due to fewer respondents/responses
due to changes in the marketplace and mergers. Therefore the
Commission is adjusting the estimates to more accurately reflect
what is currently available.
