Attached is the updated format of FRA Form 6180.3. Changes to this form include:
Notes and labeling changes to clarify differing reporting requirements between Passenger and Freight rail employees.
Addition of “Railroad Code” block to provide users with an opportunity to identify the railroad in question using a standard and unambiguous code.
Addition of a “Type of Service” block to permit users to specify the category of employment for which the Hours of Service Report pertains. In selecting an appropriate “Type of Service” the electronic form will automatically disable blocks on the form that are not relevant, reducing any confusion the user might have about what blocks are required to be completed.
Plans are to implement this updated form in two ways to accommodate specific user needs:
A secure, online form accessed via login to an authorized railroad portal website.
A fillable, electronic and/or printable PDF form available for download from FRA’s public website.
